Watching toons

Watching toons with Bubba...click on this one--I swear she's smiling!

Ballet class

Yesterday was an open house for Ava's ballet class--I couldn't go because it was horribly rainy and sleety and Jemma has some sort of the sniffles already but Ed went and got plenty of video (which the kids LOVE to watch!). Here she is, proudly wearing her "I voted" sticker on her belly.

One week old...

She's a cozy girl!

Get out and Vote!

Okay, this is the only post you'll see from me regarding the election on our family-friendly blog but this former poli-sci major just can't help myself. I turned 18 in a presidential election year so my first election was an exciting one but I have also voted in every election since even when they've been not so exciting and even though we live in a super liberal town in a super conservative state which makes it pretty easy to say which way both our local and state elections would go. If you know me, you know better than to say your one vote doesn't count. So as I am packing up my sweet little baby and heading out in the rain to cast my vote once again, let me leave you with this article and Jack's new favorite word: "NObama" (seriously we did not teach him that, he came up with it on his own!).

Some extras...

Those cheeks!

One more shot from Halloween...I love her little crossed feet.

Yay for flowers! Nothing like pink and green to cheer up the beginning of November! These were done by Lindsey (at www.ltolly.com), who has done great wedding flowers for me in the past.

Big Sister

Busy big sister! Jack doesn't seem to mind too much if I hold Jemma but he gets very blue when Ava holds her.

She says, "we just love her, don't we?"

When I told Ava she looked just like Jemma when she wore a hat like this as a newborn, she said, "that makes me feel happy inside."

Ahhh, sleep

So Jemma got two nights in our room before she was quickly moved into the nursery and while she's certainly not sleeping through the night, I have gotten several three hour chunks of sleep since then which most of you know can seem like a miracle!

"Take picture...we cute!"

Jack likes to tell me when I can get a good picture of him--he always says, "take picture...we cute!" Here they are snuggling in for a slumber party and on their way to church.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

I stayed home with this sweet pumpkin...

While Ed took the kids out and trick-or-treated all of this!

Catching some rays

They've been wearing these shirts for three days!

I promised they could have them back if I can just wash them first!

Big brother!

Susan was nice enough to take Jack this morning while Ed picked me up at the hospital and Ava was in school so we came home to a nice quiet house and I unpacked while Ed picked up Jack. Then he came busting in the house saying, "where's Jemma Jane??" After a couple gentle kisses he went about his usual business and then he when came back to check on her he said, "open her eyes" and I explained she was still sleeping so he paused and said, "can she walk around?" and I said not yet and after another pause, he said, as nice as could be, "sumpin' wrong with her. We need a different baby."

Coming home

First time in the carseat and wearing a cute hat from Susan that is a 3-6 and fits just right!
Welcome home!

I love staying at the hospital for all the obvious reasons...baby-free showers, hot meals delivered to you, a fridge stocked with yummy food and frozen lemonade (my new favorite!) but I was happy to come home today. The house was clean and sunny, the kids were happy to play together, and we had a peaceful day of cuddling with the baby!

She loves her daddy!

Jemma was very alert for a couple hours after she was born and she was definitely aware of when her daddy was talking. She will actually look at him for long periods and she always stops crying when he picks her up....I love a daddy's baby!

Sweet Jemma Jane

A thumb sucker right away!
