Heavenly Thoughts from a 4 year old...

My sweet Ava has been spending much of her time lately pondering theology and most importantly the fact that God can see her everywhere (yes, even when her parents can't). This weekend as we sang "Santa Claus is coming to town", she was particulary intrigued that he can see her when she's sleeping, he's sees when she's awake, and he knows if she's been bad or good. Later that night, as she and Kayte were gigggling in bed, I heard her exclaim, "Kayte, God is Santa Claus! He is! He sees us when we're sleeping AND when we're awake!"

kids, kids, everywhere

Well, this was a busy weekend! Paula and Joe left their kids with us as they headed out of town for some R&R and Christmas shopping (Will said his daddy was Santa's helper). That gave us five kids under five. On a normal day when the guys are at work and we get together with all the kids, we keep try to keep them all playing in one or two rooms and keep the noise level at a very dull roar. However, when Ed is around, the roar grows and grows and the kids run and run (usually in giant circles) through the house. He loves it and so do they! I am the lone dissenter and can usually be found "cleaning" our room in (relative) peace and quiet. This was Sara's first overnighter with us and we are sure there will be many more.

Welcome!

Hello and welcome to our blog! I have been meaning to do this for a long time but I am a person of great intentions and little time so it has taken me awhile to get here. I am hoping to post often but mostly I am sharing pictures for those of you who don't get to see the kids often. Enjoy!

On a side note: as I have been creating this blog today, the kids were sitting by me playing Candyland (or really Ava was playing and Jack was nodding like he knows what's going on) and Jack just noticed that while I am sitting here, I am not actually playing. So he folded his little hands and gave me his cutest look so I picked him up for a cuddle but he just reached out and grabbed my nose and said, "Honk!" It is apparently time for me to go!
