My turn.

So Ed's busy season is winding down and mine is ramping up. After just a couple early summer events, I am in the middle of doing 4 events in 3 weeks. I realized I haven't posted any event pictures since spring so maybe there will be one big post later but for now, here's a sneak peek:
this bride really wanted these ribbons tied to this lamp post (and the one next to it) so they would blow softly in the breeze as the guests arrived. Problem was that the place had no ladder, just this broken orange thing that was parked in the field across the way. So I snagged the guy delivering the beer and roped him into helping me carry this thing across the street, then lifting it up a stair, and then he hung on by his knee (look closely) and tied the ribbons with his teeth and voila!
It's a glamorous job I know.

I can't resist

posting this picture of Ed's golfer-tan lines!

Swim lessons!

I finally signed Ava up for swim lessons and while she's definitely not a water girl, she bravely did all the face-dunking, bubble-blowing, back-floating that was asked for. When it was over and all the other kids were talking excitedly, she didn't have much to say but as soon as we got home, she headed to her room and started teaching her kids how to swim right away!
Kayte and Will were there too but they were in a different group than Ava but these two got to hang out and that's always fun for them!

Sad bubba

Jack smashed his fingers this morning and a second later he crawled up to the counter with his big lip out and said, "can I please just have a cupcake for lunch?" Who could say no to this sad face!

Sisters.

And speaking of sisters, Paula was holding Jemma on her lap the other day and when she got a little squirmy, Paula leaned over to set her on the floor. Only she somehow forgot Jemma can't actually walk and when her little feet touched the floor she just let go of her hands and poor Jemma hit the ground with a thud. I was across the room but could see it happening and it occured to me too late that my sister, a grown-up mother of 4, was going to just drop my baby on her noggin!

As you can see, Jemma recovered nicely and she just may be allowed to visit the Casebolt's again.

A nice way to start the day

Ava is a sweeet little card writer. Whenever anything happens good or bad for someone, she runs to her room to write a note for them. And I get more than my share, usually laid out nicely on the counter for me when I get up in the morning.
"Dear mom,
You are the best mom a child could have"
Seriously what could be better than that?

I think the horse could use some back-up

My Jack

A few months ago Jack started yelling out, "Safety Violation!" every time he saw a road work sign or flag or even just someone up to something on the side of the road. The other day we were coming up on some road construction and he hollered, "Road Destruction! Road Destruction! Safety Violation! Safety Violation!" and as we passed the guys he said, "mom, try really hard not to hit those guys, it looks like they're working really hard!" and he rolled down his window, gave the guy a big thumbs up, and said "Hey guy! Good work!"

Sweet sweet Jem

My cozy sleeping baby with her yummy little feet.

Hey hobo!

Ava says to Jack, "you're a hobo." And he says, "hey, that's not very nice." And she says, "no Jack, it's not a bad word. Hobo means you don't have very much money and you don't have very much money."
Long pause, then he says with a grin, "Hey mom! I'm a hobo!"

Retro Friday

This weekend, last year.

Tubby time

I got Jem out of the tub and Ava said, "she's so cute, let me take her picture!"
I still cannot tell who she looks like!

Dinner date with Ava

Ava and I went out for a yummy dinner and a little shopping the other night and on the way we stopped to see little Levi at the hospital.
Isn't he sweet? Ava loves getting a little baby fix!

Lookey here...

Hey Sarah, this one's for you...

Here's Ava reading to Cate and Grace.
And then a second later she says to Jack, "Hey Tim, did I tell you I'm having another baby?" And he says, with a sigh, "Another baby? Oohh man."
